Sometimes you search…and then you find…oddities

March 11, 2015
I didn’t get to visit other Bath and Body Works stores this week until today and these stores also looked nice with the new Hawaii floor set.

Set up a bit different than mine more close to home were, I was glad to see they had some of the new little things I was looking for that I really wanted to have.  I know they all will be getting more items tomorrow and Friday so the last few things on my list should come in…somewhere. I just didn’t want to miss out on the few Bunny related items.

Oh, and these stores also did not make the short list of the 500 select stores selling the new one ounce Hawaii signature  perfumes.

C’est la vie

Another thing that they want to make me a have not about….and I am slowly becoming a want not.

One of the things I saw in store today that was a bit out in left field, I thought, was the pocketbac fan.  Big and bulky, I passed on getting this.
My purse is heavy enough.

I am a lover of all things pocketbacs and currently a menopause mama…haha… I had to say it… and even this didn’t have any appeal to me.  Hmm.  Maybe it is directed at someone like me.  Obsessed with germ free hands AND a fan to cool even the hottest of flashes. 😉

Here was today’s email: online and in store

Okay and for this last…odd thing…
what does Pizza have to do with the B?
I have no idea either.  I stumbled upon this little gem last night and looked again this morning and its weird.  You mouse over the picture and a + appears and when you click it, it opens up a link. Almost a if it was a we heart this or something.  Again, I have no idea…I just thought I would share.

Bath & Body Works | Aloha Hawaii Release day

March 9, 2015
Currently it is a bitter 37 degrees here…and a warm 77 degrees in Hawaii.
And….Why do I live here?  Ha ha.
Time to think of something tropical…
Mai Tai anyone?

What seemed to take forever in getting here, almost all of the new fragrances in the Hawaii Collection were out on display today and ready for the smelling.

All but one. Oddly, the last scent, Kauai is scheduled to release for Mother’s Day…which is two months away….Won’t the Hawaii floor set be long over with by then?

I did try the Kauai in the cooling gel lotion and it smelled nice…but the perfume on me did not agree with me and it changed after a few minutes-which does happen a lot with BBW fragrances. So I am not too worried about that scent…I just thought if there were going to be five in a collection…the thing to do is to release them together.  Perhaps April to have a collection for Mothers Day and a single scent for March…???

But, I am only the consumer…

Todays trip turned out to be to one store only…but twice…because I needed to tend to my aunt who is under the weather…and what better when you are not feeling well?  A Happy Easter Candle.

I did arrive early to see the beautiful hard work the employees did to transform the store into a Hawaiian excursion.  Huge tables of product with life sized floral and fronds were set on either side of a hanging sign welcoming you into this tropical oasis.

On one side, the table was filled with Home Fragrance and the other, Body Care.  And even with the tables missing some important items, everything looked great. I have been picking up items for a while now, but there were still a few things I had on my list I grabbed.

I looked for the Happy Easter candle, and it was set on a stand in the middle of the store.

I would have had that baby at the front entrance way…luring in those who may not like Hawaiian fragrances but who think of this time of year….Easter…and / or the bunny.

There were only eight candles left on it and they were priced 2/$24 not $10.00 as some thought they would be.  I grabbed three.

When I made my way back to the store later this afternoon when more merchandise came in…there were only two left…and then they were sold by the time I was done.

Bye, Bye candles.

I plan to go to a few other stores on the hunt for the bunny pocketbac holder as this store didn’t get it in yet. And perhaps one of these stores will be one of the select 500 who got in the one ounce perfume.  It was available online today priced at $15.00 down from the regular price of $19.50. But I passed.

Had they made those little perfume bottles samples like they did with prior scents I would have bought all 5 for a price of $5.00 each just to have them.

They did get in some Hawaii Smart Soap scents…

And Here is what I grabbed today…
Blue gift bags $1.50 each
Coin purses $4.50
Aloha matches $3.50
twisted pb holders .50
fish and turtle shower sponge holder $4.50

Brrr, now its 35 degrees….

Where ever you are..
I hope it is someplace warm and cozy…and if it’s not quite there yet…
spring is only eleven days away….
I hope.

Bath & Body Works | Hawaiian Collection

March 8, 2015

With tomorrow being the official release day of the new Hawaii Collection at Bath and Body Works, I am checking over my list of wants..(not needs) to see what I still need to pick up that I already have not.

Our district stores had a minor set back as far as deliveries this past week when we had a few more snow storms an the stores did not open…nor did the trucks arrive.  But from what I saw arriving yesterday…Hawaii sunshine is only a day away.

When the 2 for $24 candle started I did grab a few of the Hawaii scents that were already out.  I picked up the single wick jars previously and I LOVE them.  They burned perfectly and the scent throw on the Maui was perfect.  It filled up my entire downstairs.  And when my hubby asks what is the fragrance and do we have more…it is a keeper.

With the two candles, I added six Noir pocketbacs making it a $30.00 purchase and used my 10 off of 30 coupon.  That made each of those candles $8.00.

I also picked up the Large Pineapple Ceramic Luminary with the orange color inside priced at $39.50.  I had posted some photos of it compared to the 2010 Slatkin version I own.  There are slight differences but now I have a pair.  I had to get my 2010 version in 2012 on Ebay because I missed out on getting one in store.  That one was priced $39.00 ( of course not what I paid).

I grabbed some of the new luggage tags that are out.  Not sure of what I will tag but they are cute and priced at $3.50 each.  There are matching coin purses coming too.

The new bunny bucket….that I thought was metal when I saw the photo, turned out to be that canvas bag like they have had previously and with it being priced at $6.50 each and a month away from Easter, I grabbed two. Cute enough for a little one to carry as a purse.  And there is a bunny coin purse with two Beautiful Day travel minis.

The Happy Easter Candle should be out tomorrow…pricing I am unsure of…but if you want one I would suggest you grab one…regardless of what everyone thinks the scent is.  We get very little holiday themed items this time of year… a mark they are missing but fixing it would seem….so I try to grab what I may like or love or need for a gift.  Bagged and bowed it would make a lovely gift for someone…and less calories than a chocolate bunny.
There is suppose to be a figural candle too…I have no idea what it is yet.

The beach blanket is nice, priced at $16.50 and cheaper with a coupon, it coupled with the $5.00 tote is a nice pair.

Throw in the contents of the Aloha Bucket, a pair of rubber colorful flip flops and you have a nice gift for someone…Think Mothers Day.

I am not sure yet what is going on for Mothers Day this year.  I am not seeing any hand soaps and pocketbacs with cute Leprechans on for St. Patrick’s Day so perhaps that is skipped this year.

I picked up one of the new Shower Sponge holders, one of the three that will be available, in the Palm Tree.  The fish and turtle had not yet arrived.  Priced at $4.50 and paired with the pineapple sponge coming it is one way to bring color to my bathroom.

Some of the new items that we will see: cosmetic bags with full sized as well as travel trios and pocketbacs.  Various pricing.

A new Hawaii shell inspired candle sleeve pried at $15.50.  And the new pocketbac holder with the photo real palm trees on.  I did grab another mermaid yesterday in case my favorite pocketbac buddy misses getting one.

And this is the new bounce back coupon coming tomorrow.

I am planning to visit at least three stores tomorrow to see what the floorsets look like and what if anything is different as far as items.  I hope at least one of them get the new Hoppy bunny PB holder.  So until tomorrow…
Aloha…

Bath & Body Works | Today, was a good day…

March 2, 2015

Winter Storm Thor stopped by last night and with his visit came more…
SNOW
Not wrapped up with a bow and placed neatly under my tree…and yes, I still have a small Christmas tree up filled with gingerbread things…don’t judge me … I am waiting for the battery set to finish burning out.
No this snow was all over the place.  I have been on a snow shoveling ban for the past few weeks after I went and shoveled and hurt myself again (not intentionally) so the brunt of it has been on hubby.  Hey, that is what you get when you retire mister.  🙂

So after the snow fun, we took a little drive to run errands and see what is new at a Bath and Body Works store out of town.

There are a few things I am looking forward to seeing, and getting on this next floor set.  Now I know some stores will set earlier, I am just not sure when any of mine will.

I did make a list of some of the accessories that are going to be coming out…and I did see them all and they are all adorable.  Pink Bunny Coin purse…yes, yes …

I also heard that regarding the new 1oz perfume mini fragrances coming, there will be only 500 stores carrying them.
I am not sure of what the pricing will be but I can’t wait to see them, even if I don’t buy them.

Today’s First Look email arrived and it is for the new, Hawaiian Bucket purchase with purchase, available today only, online only.  It is a great offer.  For $25 on top of your $30 purchase you can get a bucket with a full sized signature fragrance ritual, hand soaps, a bath sponge, three mini tropical scent candles and a coupon to get one three wick candle for ten dollars.

The single wick hombre candles for the Hawaiian line are so pretty.  Designed like a water glass of years past, or a modern stem-less wine glass, the graduated color only adds to the charm of the summer feel style.
The new fifth and final scent out for the aloe gel lotion has finally arrived and it too smells nice.
The Nourishing Hand Cream in the last scent of Maui Mango Mai Tai is also available.
With all of this Hawaii all I need is a grass skirt…and two coconuts.

The Honolulu Sun lip balms were at the impulse counter along with the hand cream and hand soap for the $3.00 promo and I grabbed three more of them and two pocketbacs to make it a ten dollar purchase.  I know as soon as I run out of mine they will be sold out and it’s a really yummy, different flavor.

The Happy Easter candle is adorable and it should be offered soon.  I am loving that the company is listening to its customers and offering us all Holiday accessories.

Bring us some Fourth of July Apple Pie candles with a patriotic label…and plenty…plenty of Halloween inspired labels.  Haunted Houses, Mummies, Frankenstein, Dracula and bats are all welcome by me. Okay, toss in a witch too.  Heck, make a collection with those crimped tin lids. And of course minis.

And if all of this fun wasn’t enough today , I received thee most wonderful email from a
fellow B&BW friend…who wrote to tell me she had received her order…and then she shared
with me such words of encouragement … it did make me smile…cry…and smile once more.

Yes, it was a good day.  So, how was yours?
